Marshmallow Recipe Without Corn Syrup
Do you like to eat soft marshmallows? In Sri Lanka, these two tone pink and white marshmallows are popular. It is sweet. It is soft. And after all these are so cute looking.
OK.. NOW LET'S GO MAKE MARSHMALLOWS🏃
Ingredients (For approximately 35 pieces):
Ingredients A
30g corn flour
40g icing sugar
Ingredients B
30g unflavoured Gelatine
100ml hot water
500g Sugar
200ml water
Ingredients C
1 tbs vanilla essence
1 tbs pink food colouring
Preparation:
Step 1: Preparation (Use ingredients A)
Sift powder sugar and corn flour together.Mix well.
Then grease a 6’’ baking pan.
Dust the baking pan with this sugar mixture.
Keep aside.
Step 2 : Making the syrup (Use ingredients B)
Dissolve unflavoured gelatin in 100ml hot water.Keep aside.
In a pan mix sugar and water until sugar is well dissolved.
Boil this sugar mix until it reaches the soft ball stage. (If you drop a bit of this mix to water it will create a soft ball)
At this stage, lower the flame.
Add gelatin mixture to this syrup.(Sugar mix)
Mix well until gelatin mixture is well combined with sugar mixture.
Then pour the mix into a bowl.
Beat on medium speed until it is fluffy.
Add vanilla essence to the mix and beat well. (From ingredient list D)
Beat the mix until it is thick. At this stage, it will form a ribbon like mix when you lift the electric beater up.
Step 3 :
Pour the half of above mixture to the dusted baking pan which we set aside.
Using a spatula spread the mix evenly in the baking pan.
Step 4 (From ingredient list C)
Add pink food colouring to the remaining half of the mixture.
Beat until the colouring is well combined with the mixture.
Pour this pink mixture on top of the white mixture in the baking pan.
Spread evenly.
Dust a bit of corn flour and icing sugar mix on top this Marshmallow mix.
Keep it in the fridge for about 6-7 hours until it is well set.
