Ingredients:

To season the prawns

  • 500 Grams prawns (cleaned and washed)

    • 1 Teaspoon salt

      • 1/2 Teaspoon turmeric powder

        • 1 Teaspoon black pepper powder

        For the curry

        • 1 Tablespoon oil

          • 8 curry leaves

            • 4 pandan leaves

              • 1/2 cinnamon stick

                • 1 Teaspoon fenugreek seeds

                  • 4 cardamom pods

                    • 3 dried chillis

                      • 1 onion (chopped)

                        • 4 Clove garlic (chopped)

                          • 1 Teaspoon ginger

                            • 1 Teaspoon curry powder

                              • 1 1/2 Teaspoon chilli powder

                                • 1 tomato (chopped)

                                  • 1 green chili

                                    • 1 red chilli (optional)

                                      • 1 1/2 Cup coconut milk

                                        • 1 Teaspoon salt

                                          • 1 Teaspoon lemon juice

                                            • 1 Tablespoon coriander leaves (chopped)

Step 1

Season prawns with turmeric powder, salt, and black pepper powder. Set aside while preparing the curry. (before season the prawns make sure to clean the prawns properly.)

Step 2

Heat oil in a sauce pan over medium heat. When oil is hot add curry leaves, pandan leaves, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, dried chilli and fenugreek seeds into the pan and give it a little stir. Now add garlic, onion and ginger into the pan and saute for about 2 minutes.

Step 3

Add curry and chilli powder mix well and fry for about 2 minutes. (Don’t let the spices burn) Add tomato and cook for about 2 minutes while stirring occasionally.

Step 4

Then add prawns into the pan and fry for about 3 minutes turning occasionally. Now it’s times to add green and red chillies into the sauce pan, stir well. Pour coconut milk and keep cooking for about 7 minutes while stirring all the time. Add salt to taste.

Step 5

Once cooked turn off the heat & set aside. Then add lemon juice and coriander leaves into the curry & stir well. Serve hot with rice or bread. Enjoy!
